THE MEATH EPILEPSY CHARITY CHRISTMAS APPEAL 2021
The charity’s ‘Sustain and Maintain’ Christmas appeal, which runs from 22nd November – 20th December, is a call to arms for the local community at a time of great need…
The charity is releasing a film of their Christmas Carol Service at St Clement Danes Church, London as part of their Christmas Appeal. Lindsay Perryman, CEO explains “The Meath Christmas Carol Service is always a very special occasion, and it also brings in much needed fundraised income for the charity. As a care home we must remain cautious, and we are sadly unable to hold the event this year due to the pandemic, however I am pleased to invite supporters to enjoy our Carol Service in their homes.”
The Meath’s funding covers only the very basic requirements of life and does not stretch to the cost of activity sessions and regular social events which offer the people they support a sense of pride, achievement, purpose and belonging.
For much of this year local specialist care home, The Meath Epilepsy Charity has been unable to bring in their usual, vital, fundraised income from events. In addition to residential care for adults who live with complex epilepsy and disabilities, The Meath offers the people they support a wide range of daily, life enriching activity sessions at their on site Skills Centre and furniture up-cycling Social Enterprise Changing Perceptions, 133 High Street, Godalming.

With an introduction from actress Fiona Shaw, the majestic voices of the St Clement Danes Choir, rousing music from The Honorable Artillery Company Band and the joyously effervescent Meath Choir, The Meath Carol Service on film is the perfect backdrop to your Christmas wrapping, baking or tree decorating. The film is free to view, and the charity hopes that, in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, viewers will donate in order to help them to sustain the many life-enriching services for the people they support throughout the year ahead.
