GUILDFORD BOOK FESTIVAL / OCTOBER 3 – 26 / VARIOUS VENUES, GUILDFORD
The Guildford Book Festival is back with its 32nd edition to provide literary lovers with an array of readings and events from some of the country’s finest writers and personalities. On October 24, previous Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain arrives at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Talking about her passion for no-fuss cooking, the ups and downs of her meteoric rise to fame, baking for The Queen, and her latest series, Nadiya’s Fast Flavours, which airs this autumn on BBC2. Along with the companion book of the same name, it is filled with delicious everyday recipes offering new and innovative ways to pack your meals with flavour without spending hours in the kitchen.

TASTE OF AUTUMN / OCTOBER 13 – 17 / RHS GARDEN WISLEY
The popular Taste of Autumn event returns to the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Wisley from 13-17 October to showcase some of the season’s tastiest produce and share seasonal gardening advice with visitors. More than 30 quality food and drink stalls will be exhibiting delicious goods, such as meat pies, condiments, cheese, nuts, puddings and handmade confectionery, to name just a few. Beverages will also be exhibited, with a range of ales and soft drinks available to sample.

This autumn, the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company invite you to join them on a musical journey of discovery full of light and laughter and some of the best-loved tales of all time. GSC brings seven Hans Christian Andersen’s stories to life in a brand-new stage adaptation with original music and lyrics, staged in the Victorian St Nicolas’ Church, in central Guildford.
