The show must go on! Returning to roaming stages and street corners this month, Guildford Fringe Festival invite you to be inspired by the latest and greatest in fringe entertainment. Opening with the already sold-out gag House Comedy Superstars at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, expect an array of eclectic entertainment throughout July that will feature stand-up comedy, cabaret, art, opera, and so much more. THE COMEDY OF ERRORS / JULY 9 – 17 / GUILDFORD CASTLE GROUNDS
Blasting off from The Bandstand at Guildford Castle Grounds this month, the Pranksters Theatre Company bring their intergalactic interpretation of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors to the fore for a spot of theatre in the great outdoors. Join a motley crew of 1950s space adventures as they take a nine-day voyage to the planet Ephesus. Join the mission and bring a picnic and blanket for your celestial sustenance and comfort. RIPLEY FARMERS’ MARKET / JULY 10 / THE VILLAGE GREEN, RIPLEY
Taking place on the second Saturday of the month, every month; take a trip to Ripley’s Village Green and find a fabulous farmers’ market stocked with some truly tasty local produce. Find seasonal food-stuffs, as well as speciality foods, crafts and locally grown plants. Featuring up to 45 stalls every month, browse and buy some treats for you and your larder this Saturday.

Cranleigh Surrey Hills Artisan Market / JULY 10 / CRANLEIGH HIGH STREET
Taking place on Saturday 10 July, the new Cranleigh Surrey Hills Artisan Market is set to showcase the wide array of handmade and locally-produced gifts, food, drink, art and crafts from independent businesses made in the Surrey Hills.Welcoming people from 10am to 4pm, this family-friendly event is free to attend and will take place along Cranleigh High Street. The wide range of stalls will feature local artisans and their Surrey Hills-made produce, including handmade chocolates and brownies, artisan drinks, handcrafted leather goods, natural skincare, beautiful jewellery, original artworks, giftware, home and leisure pieces, delicious Surrey Hills-made meals and much more.

GUILDFORD ARTS SUMMER EXHIBITION / JULY 10 – 22 / MILL STUDIO, YVONNE ARNAUD THEATRE, GUILDFORD
The popular Guildford Arts Annual Summer Art Exhibition returns to the historic riverside Mill Studio, next to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in the heart of the town. After a limited online presence last year, this thoughtfully curated contemporary art Exhibition promises much to entice the public back to look at art in person, dispelling our flat, on-screen experiences of the last year. Over 20 local and national artists will display their talent and expertise in glass, ceramics, sculpture, paintings, drawings, metalwork, prints and photography. Rich Miller, ceramicist and judge from The Great Pottery Throwdown, will launch the Exhibition.

MUSIC IN THR PARK / JULY 11 / HATCHLANDS PARK, EAST CLANDON
One and all are invited to bring a picnic and lay lazily on the lawn whilst being serenaded by the sound of live music performed into the evening. Open from 5.30 pm, friends and families are welcome to pull up a picnic blanket before a live music concert featuring opera, jazz, musical theatre and pop plays from the stage between 7 pm – 9 pm. Organised by Guildford Lions Club, money raised from ticket sales will be donated to local charity Cherry Trees.

DARK SKIES SURREY HILLS / JULY 11 / DENBIES WINE ESTATE, DORKING
Taking place from 4 pm – 8 pm, sign up to the Dark Skies Surrey Hills trail run this July and enjoy an undulating, muddy and ultimately thrilling night run through England’s largest vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate. Choose from a 10 mile, 10K and 5K race. For the little ones in your life, there are also 1k and 2k kids races.

Taking place at Surrey’s premier sporting facility, swim, run and cycle to glory at the Guildford Triathlon this July. Start with a 500 metre swim in Surrey Sports Park’s pool before a 100m dash and finally on your bike for 27k of cycling. Set some PB’s or simply test your stamina in this triple bill of lung-busting activities.

For those who might be looking for a good spook this July, The Woman In Black arrives at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre this month. When a lawyer becomes obsessed with a curse he believes has been cast over him and his family, he enlists the help of a young actor to help him relieve him from his fear, only for events to take an eerie turn for the worst. Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story comes dramatically alive in Stephen Mallatratt’s ingenious stage adaptation.

WALLED GARDEN SUMMER SERIES / JULY / PAINSHILL PARK, COBHAM
Fancy some entertainment? Of course, you do! That’s why you’re reading this ‘ere online pamphlet of wonder, right? The good news is that Painshill Park has quite the calendar of events taking place at their esteemed pleasure gardens this summer. From stand-up comedy nights featuring some of the best comics around to outdoor theatre performances and ‘songs from the shows’, find yourself some culture contained within the beautiful walled garden of Painshill Park this month. “But what’s on this week?” we hear you cry. Laugh out loud with some stand-up comedy on July 13 as funny folk in the form of Hal Cruttenden, Ria Lina, Pete Firman and MC Erich McElroy take to the stage.
