Time for a change
head of prime residential, IAN CAMPLIN talks about their rebrand.
For those of you who know me, it’s likely that you’ll also know that I’ve been in estate agency – primarily in Elmbridge – for around four decades.
That’s a long period of time during which I’ve seen many changes. I’ve witnessed the highs and lows of the property market. I’ve experienced the country’s booms and its periods of recession. And I’ve seen the technology used to underpin our profession improve beyond recognition.
So, when I was appointed to the role of Head of Prime Residential at Grosvenor Billinghurst earlier this year, I thought there was nothing estate agency-related left to encounter.
However, I have been pleasantly surprised.
New chapter, new look
Firstly, it’s important to highlight how, following a rebrand, Grosvenor Billinghurst is now simply Grosvenor.
We’ve unveiled the new look in line with the second generation of the Davies family, which includes Gareth Davies as Managing Director and Claire Fuller as Finance and Operations Director, taking over the business.
Launched in 2002 by Ian Davies, who I’ve now known for over 20 years, the business has always represented – in my view, at least – the very best of the independents.
Grosvenor’s presence, marketing and offering has always been fantastic. Their approach, which is honest, accessible and friendly, has always made an impression on me. More importantly, I know from conversations I’ve had with buyers and sellers over the years that it’s made an impression on the Cobham, Claygate and Hinchley Wood communities, too.
So, I was delighted to join the team as part of a wider move to establish the business as the go-to independent agent for exclusive property services in and around Elmbridge.
Since joining at the start of the year, I’ve discovered that the team here really is different.
Game changers
Each of the 25 team members are from the local area and know it better than anyone. And, because it’s a family-run firm – something that is becoming increasingly rare in the world of estate agency – it’s a very personal affair for Gareth and Claire, both of whom are well-known locally.
The Grosvenor team work hard, they’re continuously looking to deliver better service than their competitors, and they deliver all this with a degree of empathy that I’ve rarely seen throughout my career. There’s a real understanding that buying and selling a home is a huge deal for most people, and they approach it with the level of compassion that this level of life change deserves.
Having gained experience of working with a premium national brand over the years, I genuinely believe that Grosvenor is the one to watch and I’m thrilled to join them at the start of their next chapter.
I hope you like our new clean, crisp and modern identity as much as we do. And if you are considering selling your property and would like to experience first-class service from a progressive, independent and friendly team, please get in touch.
