GUILDFORD UNWRAPS A PACKED SCHEDULE OF FESTIVE FUN
Head to Guildford this Christmas for a packed schedule of festive fun for all the family. With seasonal events, entertainment, offers and promotions, the town will be buzzing with an air of celebration and joy, with festive treats available for all ages.
Here are just a few of our choice tips to get you in the yuletide mood!
Festive Family Fun Day
Kick off the season with Guildford’s Festive Family Fun Day on Sunday 19th November. A full day of entertainment and celebration (11am to 4pm), this free event is brought to you by Experience Guildford and Guildford Borough Council1, and is guaranteed to get you into the festive spirit. Look out for Christmas characters on the high street, including the cheeky elves, get into the groove with Bigmouth’s Christmas Disco from the Guildhall balcony, sing along with the Rock Choir and marvel at the moves of the LDA Dance Crew as they both perform at Tunsgate Arch. You’ll find heaps going on at various locations around the town, and lots to keep you and all the family entertained. You’ll also find a Christmas Market and the return of the Snow Globe at Phoenix Court for that fully immersive winter wonderland feeling!
Little Book of Offers
Back by popular demand, be sure to grab this year’s Little Book of Offers! Available throughout the town from November 19th, it’s full of festive offers, discounts and promotions from all your favourite shops, cafes, and lifestyle businesses. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the forthcoming festive season.
Christmas Crafts
Get crafty at Tunsgate Quarter, with a Christmas ornament craft workshop taking place at Artful Kids on 25th November, and a Santa letter writing and Christmas card making workshop on 2nd December. Both are drop-in sessions running from 11am to 3pm, and are free to attend.
FREE PARKING
Enjoy free parking after 3pm every Thursday at selected car parks using the RingGo app from 30th November to 21st December. A great incentive to support your high street and shop local this year.
SANTA
Meet all your favourite Christmas characters every Saturday throughout December, with Santa making an appearance at White Lion Walk on the 2nd, and the Fluffy Bouncy Reindeers (9th), Mr and Mrs Clause (16th), and the Gingerbread Men (23rd) also visiting the town centre.
SING ALL YE FAITHFUL
Get down to some Sunday sounds of the season, with a free festive disco taking place from the Guildhall balcony on 10th December (12pm to 4pm), and Charley Farley Sunday Four performing on the high street on 17th December (11am to 3pm).
GIFT WRAPPING SERVICE
Then get wrapping for Real Change Guildford, as volunteers from the borough’s homeless charity set up stall in White Lion Walk to make your Christmas gifts look gorgeous. They’ll be running a festive gift wrapping service every Friday to Sunday from 15th December right up until Christmas Eve, to help raise funds for this worthy charity that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
